I also have pictures of the 1937 Appalachia Bulldogs. My late father-in-law played on that team. They had the leather helmets. He was the starting left guard on offense and weighed in at a whopping 137 lbs.
If you have pics of any of that that you could send to me, please do!

    Re: Old LPD Helmets

Here are some LPD helmets I have so far. The years are the only ones I know they were active. If you can help with the lifespans on years you're sure they were used, that would be cool.

    Re: Old LPD Helmets

In the late 70's early 80's up through the Mainous years Burton had what I would call a Zorro for the Raider logo. Pictures of the 1972 team it was plain white I think there was a orange stripedown the middle.
Miller came in for his run and had the black B, then Shupe went to a orange one, which we had to take off our helmet after games and stick in our locker until gameday. He was tight with money and figured we would use up less by not getting them beat on in practice.

    Re: Old LPD Helmets

I'm hitting all the forums up for info to help expand my "Helmet History Project".

This is what I currently have: http://hogoheegee.com/hogo-history/h...html?showall=1

If you have any corrections or additions, please respond or email me at [email protected].

If the helmet and logo are common and simple, a description will do. However, a unique logo will require a picture of some sort (take pictures of yearbook pages, etc.).

If you're describing the helmet, be sure to include:
helmet color, facemask color, stripes (color, #), and logo (picture preferred).

    Thanks dudes.
